Kakaobaum (Theobroma cacao)
Cocoa butter is extracted from the fruits of the cacao tree.
The cocoa tree grows as an evergreen bush or small tree.
The fruits have a leathery, very hard peel, are yellow to red, 15 inches long and weigh up to 500 grams. Under the peel are up to 60 whitish seeds, which are surrounded by a sweet and tasty pulp.
Cocoa butter, also known as cocoa fat, Oleum Cacao, is a pale yellowish, aromatic fat extracted from the seeds of the cacao tree. It calms and protects the skin.
