Avocado (Persea gratissima)
The avocado is a plant of the laurel family (Lauracae).
The avocado belongs to the laurel family. The avocado tree is cultivated in the tropics, South Africa, Israel, Chile, Peru, Australia, New Zealand and the Mediterranean. It is shrubby and gets up to 20 meters high.
From a botanical point of view, the avocado fruit is a berry that usually grows like a pear. Inside is a big seed.
Already the Aztecs have used the oil of the avocado fruit. It contains unsaponifiable ingredients that resemble the composition of the skin. Fatty acids and vitamins nourish and protect stressed skin.
